He has a heart of ice; but for her, he'd burn the world.

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape.

Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest: A crack. A melt. A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t remember. But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world…including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t want. Her brother’s best friend. Her neighbour. Her saviour and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen; but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both; and everything they hold dear.

Twisted Love is a brother's best friend/opposites attract romance with a hint of suspense. It's got a broody hero and sunshine heroine. The perfect pair, and they didn't disappoint. Twisted Love is complete with drama, action, mystery, romance and plenty of steam. It was phenomenal! I was thoroughly captivated by the story and finished it in a day. It is deep and raw. Riveting and intense. Lots of twists and turns.

Alex was hot, like insanely. There was no denying that at all. He was grumpy and hard, in all the most perfect of ways. He guarded his heart, and Alex locked his emotions away deep down in his soul. He was mysterious, dark and ruthless; in the boardroom and the sheets. You coward to him, whether it be for pleasure or punishment.

Ava was sunshine through and through. She was the light to all the darkness around her. She always saw the best in people and trusted them to a fault, much to Alex's frustration. She wanted to see the good in everyone. Even if she has to imagine it in her mind before it becomes tangible, she had been through much at such a young age and was determined to not drown in the darkness.

Ava has a great group of girlfriends who are always there for her, as is her brother Josh. So when her brother leaves the country for his job, he leaves her in his best friend's strong and capable hands to keep her safe, to watch out for her; He knows his best friend is the right man for the job. Or is he?

She had known Alex for years. Ava knew he had robot-like emotions he was so good at throwing down.

This is one of those books that is so good that you don't even know that you're reading a book. You feel like you are there with Alex and Ava living their lives.

Ava Chen is a student at Thayer University in D.C. She's studying photography and has an overprotective brother named Josh, a med student about to embark on a one-year South American Medical trip. Overprotective Josh asks his best friend Alex Volkov to look after Ava while he's gone. Alex and Josh have been best friends for eight years. Even though Ava somewhat knows Alex, he's always been broody, quiet and somewhat mysterious.

Alex Volkov is one of the best heroes (or anti-heroes) I have read in a long time! The level of depth, background, personality, and storyline Ana Huang was able to bring to this book and these characters are on another level. You're going to die when you meet him. Alex just entrapped me from the minute he pulled up in that sexy car.

I haven't read writing this good by a new author in a long time. As you can see, I am both shook, in awe, and amazed by how epic this book is. The minute I turned to the first page, I knew this book was unique. Ana Huang's writing is just outstanding. I think I fell in Love with Ava before I even met Alex. But as soon as his car pulled up, I was done! This story is more than the typical Older brother's Best friend/Frenemies to Lovers story. It has banter and steam for days; the storytelling and writing were so damn good!

I'm a sucker for the "I hate everyone but you" trope, and this one has it. The way Alex Volkov is dark, secrets, and illicit activities in a person, and when he meets Ava Chen, she wakes him up. I love how Alex compares Ava to the sun by calling her 'sunshine' as her nickname because she lights up his world, and he loves her so much! He hates everyone and does not care about literally anyone BUT her. I live for this trope, and Ana Huang did a magnificent job making me root for this couple.

I love that you meet the following heroines and some of the heroes in the books. You know Bridget is the one next, and you meet Rhys halfway through this book, so I'm very intrigued about what will happen to them.

This book needs to be developed into a movie. I'm saying it now. Of all the other adaptations that have come about, THIS needs to be one of them. I am in withdrawals. That's how good this book is. I'm having the best book ever book hangover about this. I'm so happy that I finally have read Twisted Love! I've wanted to read the Twisted series for a while now, and finally, I managed to get the series and read the first book. Ana Huang's writing is very my kind of writing, so I'm excited to read the following books in this series. I'm 100% sure I'm going to love them a lot.

This is half on the dark romance side. You do find some topics that make this a dark romance, but it's not that dark either! This book contains a possessive, morally grey alpha hole, it contains explicit sexual content and profanity. There is no cheating or menage, but if you're looking for a traditionally sweet, loveable hero, this is not the book for you. Twisted Love is advised for 18+.

You can read the Twisted Series as a stand-alone. I highly recommend this to all romance readers. Once you meet Ava, her friends, and Alex, her brother, and know that there are three more stand-alone books that feature the secondary characters, you will be happy you did.
